How does Loadshedding affect my Internet Connection

Despite Eskom’s plan to improve its operational efficiency and shore up electricity production before winter, load-shedding is still a real concern to many South African businesses.
Energy expert Ted Blom has stated that it is only a matter of time before load-shedding returns in earnest due to mismanagement, a lack of long-term coal contracts, and many other factors.
Load-shedding can also affect Internet network operators, however, as their network infrastructure remains powered by backup solutions during power outages. Revoluxion Data has invested in uninterrupted power solutions to ensure that our clients remain online.
However Client/Premises that utilize PTMP Connections maybe affected as Eskom institutes a phased approach meaning different sections of a particular area will experience Loadshedding at different intervals. This is explained with below diagram.

For example in the Highsite Location A is situated at Vodacom Tower in Hillbrow and Client Location B is situated in Braamfontein these areas are both in Johannesburg but are in different Loadshedding Schedules.
When Location A has power and Location B is under Loadshedding Users at this site will be unable to browse the internet and the opposite is true. However we have our Highsite have a backup power storage for 4 hour cycles.
If you find that your internet service does not come back up straight after load-shedding, please be patient. The Equipment is trying to authenticate a connection, along with all the others that have just come online. If after 2 hours, the service has still not been restored, please contact your Revoluxion Data for assistance on WhatsApp on +27820787653.
